they called her dazz

I feel the need to put bows, diamonds and sparkly things on just about everything lately; and wear red. I think you can guess why. I picked up my ruby red slippers at TjMaxx recently. I'm a firm believer that every woman needs a pair of killer red heels. They're timeless and a wardrobe staple. When in doubt, throw on a little black dress and something red. It's so simple yet so incredibly attention grabbing. The cable-knit sweater dress is from Target. The mass of fur I pinned on my shoulder I randomly found in my mom's closet. I'm pretty sure it's real but I don't know what kind of animal it came from. My knowledge of fur isn't quite there yet. The legging/riding pants are from Abercrombie. The random brooches and bow pinned on me are things I've gathered here and there over time. The gem bracelet that I fell in love with is from H&M. It's soft gold color and big, hazy gem make it look like a family heirloom, but only cost me $5. My ankle socks are fishnet tights that I had an urge to cut up.

bent

Mixing textures is one of my favorite things to do. It keeps things interesting. A leather vest can be worn with just about anything. Here I paired it with a 100% silk Behnaz Sarafpour button-up that I found at Target. Yes, Target. I like how it daintily drapes my arms and not to mention, it's so incredibly comfortable. I bought it about 2 years ago when Target was making every fashionistas dream come true by carrying less pricey lines of emerging international designer talent. It was called GO International. Sadly, this fashion-y Target spurt subsided after some time. Afterall, all good things come to an end. They now have a Target 'Limited Edition' line. It's a hit and a miss. The clothes always seem to be missing a certain something.
Stacked on my finger are two amazing, wiry little rings I found. Their easy manipulation allows for some fun finger wrapping, twisting and binding. When I saw them, just one wouldn't be good enough. I tend to go the extra distance for dramatic effect.

indian moon

There's nothing more comfortable than a warm, oversized sweater and a pair of flat boots. The fringe on this pair of Sam Edelmans makes me happy. They give me a rather sunny, light-hearted frame of mind. I bought them at TjMaxx for nearly nothing compared to their original price. The sweater is my mom's from quite some time ago. Slung around my hips is one of my best investments;my Target fanny-pack. It makes my life so much easier and I wear it with absolutely everything. Purses always turn into a disorganized dumpster of loose change, water bottles, and sometimes a random pair of shoes. They're just too complicated for me. Simplicity is beautiful. I suggest to invest in one.

cold front

The cold breath of winter is slowly creeping in. Night is falling faster. Hues of blood orange, yellow and deep red fall from the sky, covering the ground as the trees shed their last bit of leaves, forboding what's to come. It's a beautiful sight, really. Such icy temperatures on their way calls for fur. And lots of it.
Think warrior eskimo-chic; thick, shield-like bracelets and plated jewelry, plenty of fur, strips of leather, warm boots, oversized woven-knits, navajo printed sweaters~
