caught red footed

leather jacket: hautelook.com
cashmere sweater: tj maxx
vest: old navy
booties: gap
leather gloves: target
I've fallen in love with these little red booties. My sister and I had been wanting them when they came out this past fall at Gap, but we weren't really into paying a hundered bucks and then some. With patience, a keen eye, and of course, a little right place at the right time, we found them! Really, more like they found us. Unfortunately they weren't my sister's size, and not really mine, either (just one itsy bitsy size too small!), but for $10 I don't mind sacrificing a little wiggle room. Plus leather stretches. The faux shearling vest I'm wearing was also found at the fantastic price of only $7. Ah, I love finding great deals! Makes me want to do a heel click.

glints of gold

evil eye necklace & a michael kors watch add glints of gold to basics: jeans and a soft, purposefully not so perfect white button-down

waist-length

My pretty little sister, Kyleigh. She has the most enviably beautiful waist-length hair. I just had to share these pictures I took of her after school the other day.

hats and a few things in-between

wool hats: albertus swanepoel for target
b&w zig-zag scarf: target
patent boots: marc by marc jacobs
My sister found these Marc Jacobs boots from tj maxx for $10. The chain is missing on the left boot (hence the miniscule price), but I think I like it better with just one. It's quirky and makes them a little more interesting.
My zig-zag scarf is actually a decorative hand towel.. a little embarrassing to admit, but it looks better around my neck than hanging in a bathroom. And it's a canvas/cloth material rather than terrycloth, so it works.
The hats were 5 bucks from Target. My sister spotted them while we were checking out Jason Wu's line, which was good, but not as good as his spring 2012 runway collection with the neon brights and peplum shapes. I would love to get my hands on this feathered white frock and whimsical yet surprisingly wearable for those who dare pink skirt..

bow

sequin top: vintage
sweater: target
skirt: erin fetherston for target
bow: erin fetherston for target
suede boots: nine west
bracelet: target
owl ring: hautelook.com
I got this vintage beaded top for my birthday several months ago from a dear friend. I can be a difficult person to shop for, but she sure did a great job :) It's very well made and versatile enough to be paired with jeans and a blazer or worn a bit dressier with a skirt, like I did.
The bow is from an Erin Fetherston for Target dress from 2007. It stays pinned to my dress-form, Svetlana, in my bedroom along with plenty of other bows, flower pins, and brooches I've collected over time. Bows are my favorite. They're fun and fanciful and remind me of presents.. And who doesn't love presents?

fpotw (favorite photos of the week)

My three favorite photos taken in the past week of three of my favorite people.. and pooch ;) :: Mom and Eddie :: my niece, Brecken, looking dainty and angelic on the day of her Christening :: my nephew, Jaxen, with an uncanny air of sophistication and seriousness never before caught on camera
And how could I forget this! Just as beautiful as it was delicious. My brother-in-law and Mom are experts at fruit displays among a list of other things :)

can i get a wu hoo?

T-minus 4 days!
