the red savior

I just recently got back from a trip to Denver. Touristing around the mile high city in a form-fitting, figure-hugging skirt while eating frozen yogurt was not such a good idea. Ready to head back to my home away from home for the weekend and slip into something a little more comfortable, a big, red TJMaxx sign was in sight. I ran in, rummaged through the racks and picked up a cute little pair of ae train-conductor pants; my size, good price, done deal.
I could then finish and thouroughly enjoy my delicious chocolate, brownie, blueberry and almond Pinkberry concoction.

gotcha

I've been searching high and low for a leopard print scarf that met my specifications-big print, big size, just.. big. (And of course, small price). I was about to call it quits and make my own until I came across this one at JCPenny, of all places. I'll be wearing it on all parts of my body, as you can already see.
Anything leopard print is a wardrobe staple in my book.

caput navis

I'm pretty sure this skirt I'm wearing is supposed to be a scarf/shawl.. I don't really know. I picked it up earlier this summer at a local thrift shop in my humble little town and immediately knew exactly how I wanted to wear it. I love the long strands with the little gold beads placed sporadically down them.
I feel a bit like Jack Sparrow.

wild guess

Another ingenious diy is this necklace I put together. The claw-looking pendant is a lobster cracker I found at Pottery Barn. I'm in love with it.
The dress just wasn't doing it for me. I had to make it a little more interesting, so I left one shoulder up and wrapped a belt haphazardly around it.
Wearing clothes the way they're supposed to be worn is just not something I do.

right on time

I've been out of it with the blog world lately. My entire summer has been consumed by training for an upcoming marathon (66 days away to be exact). I've been living in tennis shoes and spandex.
So, my apologies for not keeping up with posts. I have plenty of new pieces to showcase that are currently socked away in the depths of my closet.
New here, is an adorable head-band of my sister's from H&M. The circular plated necklace, which is a little difficult to see is from T.J. Maxx. It's a perfect necklace to throw on when you're in a pinch. It immediately adds interest to the simplest of outfits.
The racerback tank is from Express, silver cuffs-Gap and the long, flowy, chiffon skirt is a little diy. (It originally was a window curtain.) Yeah, I know, kind of weird, but I pride myself on being resourceful.
